I don’t want to belabor any points about who I am and what I am doing here as it will be pretty obvious once I start writing things. There is this pull in me to list my geek cred here and enumerate the reasons why I should be listened to on anything but the more I think about it the more I realize that the proof will be in the pudding in terms of the content of the articles so I really don’t want to do that. Also, you can read my bio which will have the broad strokes.
Still, it feels weird to launch a blog without any sort of preamble so I am going to dotter on here a bit about why I am doing this in the first place. I am the senior reviews editor for The Buzz Media , a site dedicated to film and video game reviews. It’s focus is limited to those things, with a little tech content here and there and the occasional coverage of conventions and media events, and as such it limits what I can write about. There is, of course, the Gentlemen Radio, the site’s official podcast but there again it is limited insofar as there are four of us talking on that so there is only so much I can say. So I felt like I needed an outlet for more personal commentary on things without having to censor myself for content or political/business purposes. Not that politics will really figure in here, I just mean that I feel the need to have a space to freely rant about things I care about. And that is what this.
I am not following a schedule here and I make no promises as to the quantity or quality of what will be here. It is just a safe place for me to rant about things I want to rant about. I hope you enjoy it.
